The Cardiff Citizen is written and produced in Cardiff, by a citizen of this fine city. I live here and I work here. And as I see it I have as much right to ‘opine’ about what goes on here as anyone else.
Like a great many people I am sick and tired of watching our legally elected representatives fleece the taxpaying public whilst at the same time feathering their own nests.
I’m fed up of listening to them tell us we are ‘all in this together’ in one breathe, whilst in an other they tell us of exhorbitant bonus’s being paid to bank employees who are employed by us due to the government bail out of the banking industry.

I love Wales, although I hate living in the Great British ‘poor relation’.
A country which has had its natural resources and heavy industry taxed into extinction by a succession of Westminster governments who have no idea about the welsh people or what makes them tick.
Wales is a region of outstanding natural beauty with a healthy leisure & tourism industry but even that is under attack by the powers that be. The advertising and marketing budget for leisure & tourism was drastically cut recently to a ‘meagre’ £7 million pounds which might sound a lot, but it pales into insignificance when stacked against the scottish budget (for instance), which totals a heady £21 million pounds.
So as I see it the welsh people need to play their part ensuring the world gets to hear about Wales in general and Cardiff specifically.
The Cardiff Citizen is my small contribution and I make no apologies for trying to sell our beautiful country to the world at every given opportunity.
I look forward to hearing your comments.
